Is Carefree Beauty Eco-friendly?
I've been asking myself quite a lot recently how I might reduce the "carbon footprint" in my business life (I've been doing a fair bit in my personal life for many years now & it's become second-nature).
The problem is, it's very hard in this industry to be truly eco-friendly as you have to comply with myriad health & safety rules to keep your working environment & equipment sanitised to reduce any chance of infection. Also, as you may be aware, most of the equipment I use for my permanent makeup - needles, wipes etc. is single-use only & disposed of straight away.
However, I have started to make some changes... eg. I now give you bamboo cotton buds in your Aftercare Packs :) They really don't cost much more than the plastic variety, and are 100% biodegradeable, which is great! Such an obvious one to do - I don't know why it wasn't on my radar years ago!
If you're interested, here's a link to the ones I bought recently (I'm not on commission :)
Do you want to look youthful?
I think there would be very few people in the world who would answer "no" to this question! However, Tricia Cusden, Founder of Look Fabulous Forever, makes the point that the word "youthful" doesn't just mean "younger", it also means "looking fresh and full of vitality and vigour".
I couldn't agree more...Karen - Carefree Beauty x

Your brows are a very important feature of your face and you should ideally shape them according to your unique facial proportions.
Some brow artists use precise mathematical measurements to create the overall brow shape but this approach isn't always the best one if you're aiming for a natural look, as your brows can look artificial if they're too perfect – sisters, not twins is the aim.
With Permanent Make-up, we can cheat a bit and create a beautiful brow shape, taking your bone structure and features into account, even if you have little or no natural brow hair!
Long -Thicker, straight-arched brows will balance the length of your face.
Short - Longer, thinner brows with higher arches will flatter most.
Oval - Shorter brows to create the appearance of larger cheeks will widen an oval face.
Heart-shaped - You can carry off most brow shapes, except for straight brows.
Round - Keep the brow ends long, medium-thick with an arch.
Square - Naturally-shaped brows - avoiding dramatic arches or overly flat shapes - will soften an angular face.

Should you keep make-up in the fridge?
I keep some things in the fridge - makeup pencils spring to mind as they are much easier to sharpen when cold. However, not all cosmetics work best when below room temperature...read the full article HERE

Heavy brows and contouring named top beauty trends of the decade
Beauty association Babtac conducted the survey of 2,844 British women, ranging from 18 to 73 years old to find the top 10 beauty trends of the last 10 years.
Heavy eyebrows, made popular by the likes of model Cara Delevigne and brands such as HD Brows, was voted in at number one, with 67% of respondents naming this as one of their favourite recent trends.
This was followed by Kim Kardashian-style contouring at 63%. Dark berry-coloured lips, bright red lips and the smoky eye all also made the top five.
Respondents submitted their own answers or selected multiple answers from a list of beauty trends.
The full top 10 included:
1. Heavy eyebrows – 67%
2. Contouring – 63%
3. Dark ‘Berry’ Lips – 51%
4. Pin-up red lips – 48%
5. Smoky eyes – 47%
6. Winged eyeliner – 41%
7. Glossy lips – 39%
8. Nude lips – 24%
9. Pencilled beauty spots – 16%
10. Natural look – 15%
After giving their answers, the women were then asked to reveal how they learned to recreate their much-loved beauty look, to which 79% replied that they had learned through trial and error, whereas 59% said they watched online tutorials on websites such as Youtube to improve their skills and learn new make-up tricks.
Only one in five of the women, 21%, said that they were taught skills by friends or family members.
Emma Roberts, Marketing Executive at BABTAC, commented, “The more glamorous trends certainly came out on top, as per the bold brows, contouring and sultry berry lips. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and her younger sister Kendall Jenner are definitely very influential on the UK beauty scene right now.”
