What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation using a surgical scalpel to gently scrape away dull, dead skin cells and remove vellus hair (peach fuzz).

Does your hair grow back after Dermaplaning?
Yes. Dermaplaning only removes the hair at the surface of the skin, so it is scientifically impossible for that process to alter hair growth.
However, facial hair may feel a bit spiky when it first starts to grow back after about a month. The ends will be slightly blunt for a couple of days before tapering off, so you may notice the hairs coming back, although nobody else will.
How often should you get Dermaplaning?
Generally every 3-4 weeks, depending on your rate of hair growth, to maintain the results.
How long does it take to recover from Dermaplaning?
There is no downtime with this procedure!
If you have very sensitive skin, you might feel a slight burning or stinging post-procedure, but no pronounced redness or visible irritation.
What is the aftercare for Dermaplaning?
You will be provided with full aftercare instructions.
However, the main advice is to avoid direct contact with the sun for the first 48-72 hours after treatment and always wear a broad spectrum sunscreen as recently exfoliated skin is more susceptible to the negative effects of the sun.
Also, you should discontinue use of any exfoliants for a week following the service, and switch to a gentle cleanser and super hydrating skincare products.
Are there any contraindications?
You will be required to complete medical & consent forms before your treatment but there are very few contra-indications. However, you may be asked to delay treatment or seek permission from your doctor if any of the following apply:
You must be 18 years +
Not allergic to nickel
No injectables (Botox & Dermal Fillers) 1 week before & 2 weeks after
No waxing/threading or use of facial depilatory creams for 7 days prior.
No use of Roaccutane within last 12 months
Cancer therapy - chemotherapy/radiotherapy/treatment

Can you Dermaplane at home?
You can, but you probably shouldn't. Dermaplaning is a refined and careful approach to removing skin cells and vellus hair that should be done by a trained professional. The Dermaplaning tools you can buy online are not as sharp or as effective as the medical-grade scalpels that are used by professionals.
Plus, an at home treatment will not give you the same level of exfoliation or fully remove the hair. Worse still, you can create nicks, dermatitis and irritated skin from doing this treatment at home.
How long does the procedure take?
You should allow approx one hour for your first treatment which will include a consultation and completion of consent forms etc.. Thereafter, approx. 45 mins for each treatment.
How much does Dermaplaning cost?
Single treatment £65 Course of 3 treatments £180 Course of 6 treatments £330
